Silkscreen SHADOW

Silkscreen

Size: 75 × 35 cm
Medium: paper, analogue printing
Edition: 20 copies

The work refers to Carl Jung’s concept of the Shadow — the unconscious part of the psyche hidden even from oneself. It contains traits, desires, impulses, and experiences that one refuses to acknowledge. These may include repressed negativity, sexuality, egoism, or any qualities that conflict with social norms. By suppressing one’s uniqueness, a person loses individuality and integrity. The painting captures the moment when the Shadow begins to break through. The woman is not yet aware of it and struggles to maintain control, her fingers reddened from tension. She is yet to face her Shadow and accept it as her superpower.
