The Giclee TWO

In Two, Masha Yankovskaya explores the theme of intimacy. The hand of a man, who remains unseen, suggests a deep connection between the figures. Against the backdrop of widespread disillusionment with relationship — women no longer understand why they need men, and men no longer understand why they need women — the work is a reminder of the value of vulnerability and the fundamental human need to share one’s existence with another. As Masha notes, “we must surrender to the fact that we are drawn to each other, and that loneliness is not the best solution.”
